Old Jameson Distillery

Stuff in the gift shop

Hey there, I’m Sean, one of the guys behind this whole Metroblogging thing. Usually I am in Los Angeles but I’m visiting Dublin and had to go check out Old Jameson Distillery while I was here. I was in Cork earlier in the week and really wanted to see the Midleton location but just wasn’t able to pull it off. The Bow Street distillery is actually the original place Jameson started making Whiskey back in 1780 but they’ve since moved all actual production down to Midleton. Anyway, the tour was amazing (if you are into that kind of thing of course) and I learned so much about how it’s all done and the history of Jameson, it was well worth the 10 euro price tag. Plus there is free Whiskey, and if you are into the good stuff there are special you-can-only-buy-them-here offers at the shop there. I actually went just to grab something for a friend but ended up throughly enjoying myself. I took more pics which are in this flickr set if you want to check ’em out.
