Banning Dogs.

We’ve all heard the news before; Rottweilers, Pitbulls mauling toddlers or attacking kids.

Reading today’s Irish Times article on the Dublin City Council banning certain dog breeds gave me a few mixed feelings though.

Banning German Shepherds and Japanese Akitas seem alittle extreme-these dogs are known to be the smartest dogs, often used by policemen and involved in rescue missions all over the world….

It really made me think about people who bring them into the family home and don’t train them properly…maybe instead of banning dogs, they should have mandatory training school sessions for their dogs and owners?!!!

I think that apartments are not the right place for dogs like these – and a ban is fair.
Why are so many of the “hard cases” getting these type of dogs? It’s all for show – I am sure many of them are not dog lovers.

    that is bull!!
whatever the reason for anyone getting any dog the problem is people need to train there dog properly and if not there should be a law that imprisons or fines these people!!
you cant discriminate the council house areas it is disgusting and totally derogatory..
