Ireland: Coolest Defense Logo

While reading blog, “Who Sucks” came across an article about 22 Fearsome Defense Ministry Logos From Around The World and they have a small vote going on for it, for which country has the coolest Defense Ministry logo, interesting read.

The point of posting here is, Ireland is leading the way (with 25% of the votes till now) & (alongwith Netherlands i think) has one of the coolest logo for it. Go have a look and Vote!!

Opportunities in Design

MB reader Staci asks:

Hey everyone, I am from far far out of town (the US ) And I am moving to the wonderful city of Dublin in less than one year’s time…and looking around for an edgy out there design company and cannot seem to find any. Am I just looking in the wrong places like “the firm list” and Craig’s list, and other online sources… or is there some Awesome young design firm in the city of Dublin that wants more young talent? I have found award winning companies but to me a large design firm doesn’t appreciate the youthful tone of today’s graduates… Any help would be useful, especially from the locals of a city I so enjoy!

Any ideas, folks?

Banning Dogs.

We’ve all heard the news before; Rottweilers, Pitbulls mauling toddlers or attacking kids.

Reading today’s Irish Times article on the Dublin City Council banning certain dog breeds gave me a few mixed feelings though.

Banning German Shepherds and Japanese Akitas seem alittle extreme-these dogs are known to be the smartest dogs, often used by policemen and involved in rescue missions all over the world….

It really made me think about people who bring them into the family home and don’t train them properly…maybe instead of banning dogs, they should have mandatory training school sessions for their dogs and owners?!!!

A Dublin Story

Came across this short Irish film about two young street urchins developing a friendship over the course of a day’s journey throughout the mean streets of Dublin city. Good background music, nice B&W feel, Worth a look. Enjoy!!
